VIVERSE participates in Eirmersive’s OUTWARD event showcasing Ireland’s immersive technology sector

Outward event hosted by Eirmersive

VIVERSE was proud to participate in OUTWARD, an event hosted by Eirmersive on September 11th, 2024, at the O’Reilly Theatre, Belvedere College, Dublin. The event, which was attended by Dara Calleary, Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation, brought together industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to highlight the achievements of Ireland’s growing immersive technology sector. Having established a strong presence in Ireland with the formation of VIVERSE as a company, we were pleased to witness the depth and breadth of expertise that the Irish immersive technology community has developed. The event offered a platform for businesses and organisations to showcase real-world use cases, illustrating how immersive technologies are being successfully implemented across various sectors in Ireland and globally.

One of the highlights of the evening was a presentation by Lee Willows, Founder and CEO of ESG Gaming, who spoke about the company’s collaboration with VIVERSE for Business. ESG Gaming has been exploring how immersive technology can be used to reduce loneliness and social isolation, as well as mitigate risk factors for dementia. Their innovative project, THE DOME, powered by VIVERSE for Business, offers consumers an immersive and nostalgic virtual environment that has garnered industry recognition.

Eirmersive, the voice of Ireland’s immersive technology sector, also launched its new membership scheme at the event. The initiative aims to bring together companies and individuals from across the country to support the continued development of the sector. This comes at a critical time, with Ireland positioning itself to become a global hub for immersive technology by 2030.

Minister Calleary delivered the opening welcome address, emphasising Ireland’s technical, creative, and academic strengths, which make the country well-positioned to capture a share of the rapidly growing global immersive technology market. He congratulated Eirmersive on its work to date and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the sector's growth. During his attendance, Minister Calleary engaged with John Dabill, Head of Operations at VIVERSE Ireland, discussing how the award-winning VIVERSE for Business platform has enabled companies such as ESG Gaming to quickly develop and deploy immersive experiences across diverse sectors, including education, industrial applications, and non-profit initiatives.

"We would like to extend our thanks to Camille Donegan, James Corbett, and the Eirmersive team for their continued support of VIVERSE and our customers. Their efforts to enable growth and collaboration within Ireland’s immersive technology community are commendable," said John Dabill, Head of Operations at VIVERSE Ireland.

"Tonight's event was a wonderful celebration of our sector and the world-class capability of our Irish Immersive companies. It was a reminder that, regardless of hype cycles, this is a fast-growing sector with immersive technologies seeing wide scale adoption across domains and industry verticals. Immersive companies are building solutions that deliver unique value," said Camille Donegan, Interim-CEO at Eirmersive. The evening concluded with demonstrations of immersive technology solutions developed by Irish companies, offering attendees an opportunity to explore the innovative ways in which immersive technology is being applied across industries.

Eirmersive is supported by the Creative Ireland Programme and benefits from Government funding as part of the Digital Creative Industries Roadmap 2024-2026, launched in February 2024. This roadmap is designed to strengthen Ireland’s digital creative industries, with Eirmersive playing a pivotal role in advancing the country’s immersive technology sector on the global stage. As VIVERSE continues to grow and support the development of the immersive sector, events like OUTWARD are vital in supporting collaboration, innovation, and the global reach of Irish technology.
