Virtualware, a leading provider of 3D-driven enterprise software, has announced the integration of its XR platform, VIROO, with HTC's VIVERSE Polygon Streaming technology. The announcement was made at I/ITSEC 2024, the world’s largest modeling, simulation, and training event, held in Orlando, Florida.
VIVERSE Polygon Streaming enables complex 3D assets to be efficiently processed on server-side systems while streaming only the necessary data to client devices. This approach allows intricate 3D models and environments to be rendered on lower-spec hardware, broadening accessibility to immersive graphics and interactivity.
The integration with VIROO further extends this capability. VIROO’s platform, known for its multi-user collaboration, training, and digital twin applications, empowers enterprises to incorporate complex 3D content with ease. This combined technology enhances scalability and mitigates the challenges posed by limited client-side computing power.
“This integration with Virtualware’s VIROO platform enhances how enterprises can harness complex 3D content for training, collaboration, and digital twin applications,” said John Dabill, Head of Product Operations at VIVERSE. “By combining the scalability of VIVERSE Polygon Streaming with VIROO’s multi-user capabilities, we’re making spatial computing more accessible and cost-effective.”
VIROO provides enterprises with a suite of ready-to-use XR applications while also offering developers tools to create custom multi-user simulations and digital twins. The platform, certified to ISO 27001 standards, ensures robust security and privacy, making it a trusted solution for global businesses.
This announcement builds on a strategic partnership between Virtualware and HTC, unveiled earlier this year, which aims to accelerate enterprise XR adoption in the Americas.
As John A. Cunningham, President of Virtualware USA, noted, “This new announcement marks a significant step forward in Virtualware’s collaboration with HTC, aimed at providing enterprise clients with a more extensive portfolio of solutions seamlessly integrated with HTC's products and technologies.”
The integration strengthens the growing potential of XR technologies in enterprise applications, from training and simulation to advanced collaboration, enabling businesses to harness immersive experiences at scale.
