Inaugural NFT of the collaboration, “The Pirate King of Formosa,” will Launchon the VIVE BYTES Store
March 28, 2022 - Taipei, Taiwan – HTC today announced that it has partnered with Ming Hwa Yuan Arts and Culture Group to launch "The Pirate King of Formosa Global Limited Edition NFT Pack" on the VIVE BYTES store. The Pirate King of Formosa NFT Pack will be minted on the Polygon blockchain and will be available on VIVE BYTES for NT$299 starting April 10. HTC will continue to collaborate with Ming Hwa Yuan to bring the art of Taiwanese opera to the VIVERSE.

HTC collaborates with Ming Hwa Yuan Arts and Culture Group and Future-Digi
HTC and Ming Hwa Yuan Arts and Culture Group, Taiwan's leading traditional art group, will collaborate to bring Taiwanese opera into the digital realm for everyone to enjoy. In the first wave of cooperation, they will collaborate with Future-Digi to launch "The Pirate King of Formosa Global Limited Edition NFT Pack" on the VIVE BYTES store. Ming Hwa Yuan Arts and Culture Group exclusively licensed its upcoming flagship production "Zheng ZhiLong, The Pirate King of Formosa" to HTC for the company to carry out NFT product design, minting, and selling. Additionally, Future-Digi invited renowned Taiwanese comic artist Wei Tsung-Cheng to exclusively create an animated version of "The Pirate King of Formosa" for the NFT pack.
With a history of 93 years, Ming Hwa Yuan Arts and Culture Group has long promoted the preservation of traditional arts. The group has continued to innovate in recent years, with its first comic crossover production, "The Apocalypse of Darkness Warfare," being released in 2020 as one of its benchmark works.

As part of the collaboration, Future-Digi has invited Wei Tsung-Cheng, the original author of "The Apocalypse of Darkness Warfare," to create an animated version of "The Pirate King of Formosa." "Wei has been cooperating with Ming Hua Yuan for a long time, combining traditional art with original comic artwork. The demand for NFT distribution from domestic artists is increasing. We hope this collaboration will lead Taiwanese artists to enter the metaverse and give this artwork a second life," said Han Chin-Yueh, General Manager of Future-Digi.
The Pirate King of Formosa NFT Pack will be available on VIVE BYTES on April 10
"The Pirate King of Formosa Global Limited Edition NFT Pack" will be minted on the Polygon blockchain, and will be available on April 10 starting 12:30 p.m. CST. It will be limited to 2,500 packs and priced at NT$299. The three highlights of “The Pirate King of Formosa Global Limited Edition NFT Pack” are:
1. Available through online and physical channels
Purchase directly on VIVE BYTES via credit card (limited to 2,000 packs)
Purchase redemption codes through 7-11 ibon channels and unpack the NFTs on VIVE BYTES (limited to 500 packs)
2. Comprehensive collection of the main characters of "The Pirate King of Formosa"
A total of 23 different NFT designs will be available with each pack containing two randomly selected NFTs, at least one of which will be an NFT of Sun Tsui Feng
2 animated versions, exclusively created by Wei Tsung-Cheng, will be available
20 different appearances of the characters, as redesigned by HTC, will be available. This includes:
- 3 different styles of the main male character played by renowned Taiwanese opera actress Sun Tsui Feng, and 2 different styles of the main female character.
- 4 different facial expressions of each style will be available
1 hidden version of the "King Card" featuring the guffaw of the pirate king will be available, and will be limited to 250 pieces
3. A chance to watch “Zheng ZhiLong, The Pirate King of Formosa” in the theatre Those who obtain the "King Card" before 4/22 will have a chance to win VIP tickets to any theater screening of "Zheng ZhiLong, The Pirate King of Formosa" on 4/30, limited to 25 tickets. In addition, VIVE Connect will also launch a virtual theme park of “The Pirate King of Formosa,” which will be accessible via smartphones, tablets, computers, and VR devices.
