Transform your Open Brush art into a 3D World with VIVERSE!

We’ve been waiting to share this news, and we’re so excited to publicly announce that Open Brush creators can now publish their art straight into VIVERSE Worlds for free

You paint in Open Brush, press publish, and your work becomes a multiplayer browser world you can invite friends to explore with you. It’s a simple integration with a huge impact.

This is the first time the Open Brush web viewer supports multiplayer in the browser, and we are thrilled to help bring it to life. We want creators to spend more time making art and less time wrestling with workflows. This update does exactly that.

Why We’re Excited About This

We want Icosa Foundation‘s Open Brush creators to be able to publish their art using the tools they already know and enjoy. We’ve seen the creativity that comes out of the Open Brush community; it’s wild, expressive, and inspiring. Every time we see a glowing stroke or an animated brush trail, we imagine people walking around it together. With VIVERSE, now they can.

We adapted the Open Brush viewer so your art can transform into a shared experience as a VIVERSE World. You can share it publicly with the world, or refine visibility with a smaller group of friends, collaborators, or patrons. It feels like stepping into your painting. It’s also incredibly easy.

We built this integration because we want creators to feel supported from the moment they start painting. The Open Brush team shares the same energy.

“VIVE have always been enthusiastic supporters of Open Brush and we’re proud to partner with them to integrate direct VIVERSE support. It allows our community to publish their work easily and quickly and allows everyone to explore Open Brush artwork in a form that is both social and immersive.”

Andy Baker, Open Brush developer

That spirit of simplicity and access also guides our work at VIVERSE.

“Open Brush is one of the most popular and user-friendly VR tools available. This collaboration enables anyone to create VR illustrations and share them with VIVERSE Worlds instantly. It’s another huge leap forward in VIVERSE’s mission to be the most accessible VR platform available.”

Andranik Aslanyan, Head of Growth, HTC VIVERSE

How the Workflow Feels Now

We wanted this to be as smooth as possible for artists.

  1. Paint something in Open Brush.
  2. Sign in with your VIVERSE account.
  3. Tap Publish in Open Brush.
  4. Grab the VIVERSE World link.
  5. Share it anywhere.

That’s it! Super simple, very streamlined. Absolutely no export process. You stay focused on your art, and we take care of the rest.

See What Other Open Brush Artists Are Publishing

If you want inspiration, we’ve already got a growing collection of Open Brush worlds on VIVERSE. These pieces show how creators use color, scale, and motion in ways that only 3D can capture. You can explore them in the Open Brush category and experience each painting as a shared space.

What This Means for Open Brush Artists

If you’ve ever wished people could explore your art in 3D across desktop or mobile devices, then this is for you. Screenshots never show the depth of a sketch. Videos miss the texture of your strokes. VR limits the experience to those with the hardware. A shared world, though, lets people explore your art on any device with a browser. No limitations.

And for peace of mind, we want to be clear that you keep full ownership of what you create. This integration only exists to give you more ways to share and to help your art travel farther.

What This Means for VIVERSE Creators

This update brings a fresh wave of art into the platform. You’ll get more expressive worlds to explore, more creators to collaborate with, and more ideas to spark your next project. Many Open Brush artists are new to VIVERSE, and we’re excited to welcome them in.

This year we’ve also expanded support for other creation tools. We added Wonderland Engine integrations and updated support for Unity WebGL, PlayCanvas, Three.js, A Frame, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, and Godot. Adding Open Brush builds on that momentum and keeps the platform open to more creative styles.

We Can’t Wait to See What You Share

This feature is live right now. You can launch Open Brush, connect your VIVERSE account, and publish your first world today. We hope it brings more people into your art and gives your ideas more room to breathe.

Your work deserves a space people can step into. We’re excited to help make that possible.
