Epic WebXR Games You Can Play in Your Browser—Winners Inside

The future of WebXR is here, and it plays in your browser.
Over six weeks, VIVERSE and 8th Wall invited developers, designers, and students to join the Forge the Future Game Jam, a global challenge to create immersive, browser-based XR mini-games using 8th Wall. Participants turned bold ideas into interactive experiences—no downloads, no installs, just the open web. Today, we’re celebrating the winning WebXR projects that pushed the boundaries of what’s possible with browser-based immersive experiences, proving that powerful ideas can be built and shared without limitations.
How the Game Jam Worked
The Forge the Future Game Jam invited creators to explore what’s possible in their browsers by using 8th Wall, a flexible WebXR development toolkit. Participants built immersive WebXR mini-games directly in the browser, with their preferred tools, resources, and 8th Wall’s visual editor, Studio. That’s without downloading anything or trying to follow complex installations. 8th Wall’s documentation provided guidance throughout the process, helping both new and experienced developers bring their ideas to life in Studio during the Game Jam’s development window.
Participants were asked to:
- Build a WebXR mini game using 8th Wall’s Studio
- Publish a project page with a short demo video
- Follow the submission process detailed in the official jam materials
Then, Judges from VIVERSE and 8th Wall reviewed submissions based on:
- Gameplay and replay value
- Creativity and design
- Technical execution
- Visual presentation and interface polish
The global turnout reflected a growing community of creators eager to experiment with immersive web technologies, and each submission pushed the capabilities of browser-native XR in its own unique way.
Meet the Winners
After careful review by judges from VIVERSE and 8th Wall, the winning entries have been selected. The Top 3 winners were invited to join VIVERSE’s Creator Program to represent some of the most inventive uses of WebXR seen to date. From retro interface design to inventive mechanics and polished presentations, each project stood out for its creativity, accessibility, and playability.
